Junior
Interior design 2018 | Junior department store on Warsaw’s busy Marszałkowska street now features a public reading room. Designed to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Empik – a major Polish book retail company – it was built in record time. We were very happy to receive this extraordinary commission from Empik, who seem to be pleased with our previous, such as the Bestseller prize and the Reader cabin. We used felt and steel-mesh baffles to lower the ceiling optically and to make the room more intimate. The custom-built pendant lamps reference the fluorescent light fixtures popular in public reading rooms of 1960’s and 1970’s Poland | Photography by Jan Dybowski
